Our team comes from different places all over the globe (3 different continents!) but Finland is our adopted home.

Every year 35 billion plastic bottles end up in U.S. landfills alone. The world is drowning in single-use plastic. Finding new ways to recycle will be key to tackling the problem of plastic.

That's why materials from over 6 recycled plastic bottles go into making every pair of Rens. Do we want to see a plastic-free world?

But in the meantime, let’s do what we can to get the most out of the materials that are already here.

We took a different approach to our materials. We know that waste shouldn’t be wasted, but could be used to create something better… something awesome.

By taking used coffee grounds and recycled plastic bottles and turning them into a sneaker, we can drastically increase the lifecycle of these single-use materials.

Putting 21 cups of coffee in your system is definitely not recommended. Putting them into sneakers though... That's a different story.
